Compassionate Teaching for Real-Life Bodies
My yoga journey has been a thread gently woven through the fabric of my life since the age of 22. It began in Kathmandu, Nepal, where I lived during the early days of motherhood. Amid the vibrant energy of the city, I carved out quiet moments for myself through Iyengar yoga, learning from two incredible teachers who had studied directly under B.K.S. Iyengar. Those early experiences planted a seed—a deep appreciation for the power of alignment, breath, and presence.
Back in the UK, life became full: raising my daughters, training as a primary school teacher, and navigating the beautiful chaos of family and career. Yet yoga remained a quiet companion, returning in pockets of time and space. As my children grew more independent, I found myself in a weekly class again—and it felt good. That hour of movement and breath reenergised me, realigned me, and reminded me of the importance of carving out time for self-inquiry. It was then I knew I wanted to explore yoga more deeply.
I completed a 200+ hour Hatha Raja Yoga teacher training, specialising in Ashtanga—a dynamic, meditative, and physically demanding practice. It challenged me mentally and physically, and I loved every minute of it. In 2019, I made a pivotal decision: I stepped away from my 18-year teaching career, put down the whiteboard pen, and stepped fully into the role of yoga teacher. I haven’t looked back and have since trained in pregnancy, mother and baby, and postnatal yoga.
Today, I teach with a deep respect for human anatomy and the uniqueness of every body. Yoga is not about touching your toes—it’s about touching your truth. Your mat is your space for self-inquiry, not comparison. I believe yoga is a practice of unity: mind, body, breath.
In a world that moves fast and demands much, I offer a space to slow down.
Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or returning after a long pause, I’ll guide you through a practice that is safe, nurturing, and deeply grounding. My hope is that you leave feeling still in mind, strong in body, and reconnected to yourself—ready to meet the world again with clarity and calm.
I am an advocate for mental health. Yoga has supported my mental wellbeing through life’s transitions, offering clarity, calm, and resilience. It’s where I return to reconnect, realign, and remember my strength.
